The Original posting of this was as my status update on August 28 at 11:12pm (which I have removed), but I wanted to keep this information, so am posting as a note/blog – along with the original comments.
Did you know.. The WORD ~hell~ IS NOT anywhere mentioned in the Gospel of John OR the Epistles of John I,II, or III & It is only mentioned 4 times in Revelation?? Interesting huh? *note: lake of fire, hates & the bottomless pit (which are assumed references) are also mentioned in Revelation, [the translation for the word ~hell~ in Revelation is hates] but these words are not mentioned Anywhere else in John’s writings*

In Hebrews one of the words for hell is Geenna, which means “the valley of or the son of a place called Hinnon”
Hinnon is a valley of Jerusalem, a deep narrow revine with steep rocky sides, in the South and West of Jerusalem. It separates Mount Zion to the North, from the Hill of Evil Council & the smoking rocky plateau of the Plain of Rephaim to the South. (Hinnon means Lamentation)
This is where the boundary lines between the Tribes of Judah and Benjamin is described as passing along the bed of the ravine.
On the Southern brow overlooking the valley at it’s Eastern extremedy Solomon erected high places for Molech. (Molech was a Fire God that was worshiped by the people in that vicinity where infant sacrifice was a custom)
To put an end to these abominations, the place was polluted by Josiah who rendered it ceremonially unclean by spreading over it human bones and other corruptions. (II Kings 23:10,13 & 14, II Chronicles 34:4 & 5)
From which time it appears to have become the common cesspool of the city into which it’s sewage was conducted to be carried off by the waters of the Kidron. From it’s ceremonial defilement and from the detested and abominable fire of Molech if not from the supposed ever-burning funeral piles, the latter Jews applied the name of this valley Ge hinnon, Ge-henna (land of Hinnon) to denote the place of Eternal Torment. In this sense the word is used by our Lord. (Matthew 5:29, Matthew 10:28, Matthew 23:15, Mark 9:43, Luke 12:5) ** Another name for this place is Tophet**
Joshua 15:8, Joshua 18:16, I kings 11:7, II Kings 16:3, II Chronicles 28:3, II Chronicles 33:6, There’s a bunch more in II Kings & II Chronicles

When discussing hell…isn’t Satan relevant? That’s like discussing modern Christmas celebrations without mentioning Santa! (: August 29 at 12:03am via mobile
ok here’s something for you.. just a start..
To be accurate the Name of the Head Fallen Angel was Lucifer which means: Light Bearer, The anointed Cherub that Covereth – interesting definition for Cherub here Mr. Strong.. (A winged celestial being.. although a difference is noted in the term Cherubim **Cherub,Cheribum & Cherubim**(spelled Keruwb) which in Hebrew means: of uncertain dev. a cherub or an imaginary figure.. plural is cherubim). Same word..spelled Keruwb is a place in Babylon. (Ezra 2:59, Nehemiah 7:61)
In Hebrew Lucifer is Heylel which means: In the sense of Brightness- The Morning Star…. when he fell, his name changed to Satan which means: In all of the Old Testament: Adversary, Opponent, (primitive root, attack or accuse-Hebrew),
In the new Testament-Greek: the word Satan is Satanas which is Chaldean it means The accuser or Devil.
